🔥 “You don’t owe anyone the watered-down version of yourself.”

Vera Rivera (00:00)
this is Vera and I've just decided that the only time that I'm really going to have time to do anything is outside of work, which is what I do a majority of the time.

I work in the airline industry and it's really unpredictable and my schedule is constantly changing. But I also have a passion to help women truly like get obsessed with themselves and find themselves and I'll tell you so much more in detail about what that really means to me as we move forward. But I've been in this place where I've...

been really wanting to like show up and you know kind of listen to everyone who's gone before me that is where essentially I want to be because what they teach you is to

only take advice from people who are in situations that you're in and that are a few steps ahead of you and where you want to be. And everyone that I've looked up to as a mentor who is where I want to be has done all of these things that...

I've definitely replicated and followed and emulated and to be honest, like it's a lot and there are a lot of things to organize and to work through as you're moving through these things and kind of figuring out that, maybe this is something I need to work deeper on. So then that takes a little bit more time and then like, okay, but at the same time, after all of this going inward,

Feeling like I've missed out on all the opportunities of being able to help people and move through these different journeys and transformation situations That now I feel so far ahead of everyone and how do you go backwards? Back to feeling like okay, maybe I'll just be Present and in the present moment, you know what I mean? It just

There's so much back and forth with all of these things and it's really tough to figure out like what is working for people and what's not working for people. And essentially when you're overwhelmed and you have a lot of information, I think for a lot of people we just kind of freeze and zero action is taken because we're overwhelmed and nothing happens. Or so many things happen at the same time that you can't even track what's happening and then

Essentially, you've done all of these things and used all of this time perfecting something and it probably wasn't the best thing you could have been working on in that moment.

I feel like I've had years of being able to do that and figure out what works and doesn't work for me. But I've also had a lot of time to realize that in all of that, I haven't really been taking forward action and

creating routines and lifestyle changes that would really help me with like moving forward and getting to like my highest self.

with efficiency, let's say, because I know that I work really hard and that I spend a lot of time researching and going through things, making sure that I'm doing all the right things or whatever I hear and a couple of things.

not everything that is working for someone that you know is going to work for you. And I know that you shouldn't reinvent the wheel, but when you find out what your energy type is, there are, there's more than, there's 75 % of people in the world that all of these things that work for other people will work for them because that's their energy type. And if you're the other like,

25 % of the population, it's not gonna work for you. And I feel that I've learned that I'm in that 25 % of the population and nothing that works for everybody else is going to work for me. And I had to learn that the hard way and it was really, really hard to accept. So again, we're gonna go into detail about what all of these things mean, but essentially what I'm doing here today is just a quick riff of

It's been a while. My podcast states that I'm going to update it once a week. I'm literally driving hands-free just to let you know that I am being safe, but figuring out that this is probably the only time that I'll be able to spend with my community and my audience and just really getting my thoughts out there for people to hear because I've tried other ways and

It's really been challenging to set up a space and time that's outside of work and being with my family and locking myself in a closet, recording. I mean, after pretty much my bullet points, my notes, my script, everything that I would use to create a podcast episode and the editing.

I am also the person that wears all of the hats in my business.

I still have to be a mom and a wife and someone who has a career. So I know that there are smarter ways to work, but right now this is what we're doing. This is where we're at. So I am currently in my car driving to work and...

just speaking, just decided to press record on my phone, on my voice memos, in my car. I don't know if you're hearing any background noise and just.

submitting and surrendering to this moment of being in traffic, safely getting to work and recording what I can.

And we're just here. We're here. We're being present. We're in the moment and we're doing things. In the last few weeks, like I said, I have been going through the normal thoughts of, what was I thinking? Thinking that I could show up once a week and podcast. Cause it was just something I really wanted to do to kind of like get.

my audience to like know me and for my audience to basically basically grow my audience do everything that everyone's telling you to do. Be omnipresent. Get your name out there. Let people know what you do. Build relationships. The like no trust factor. The marketing. Make sure that when you speak though and you do this marketing and tell people what you do that you also have

a funnel to put them through or a freebie or what are you doing to hold these people and create these relationships and get them to like you and to trust you and all of the things and it's very overwhelming to be honest and I've actually been on this journey for almost five years now and when I first started five years ago I was like okay a lot of the people that I'm talking to of

on their businesses going after two years or three or four years right and now that I'm at five years I'm like okay well maybe I'm failing but

Also, honest, you can't really say that you're failing if you haven't actually told people what you do and how you help them and start speaking about your offers or what you can do for them, right? So I can't really say that I'm failing because I'm not failing.

I literally can't say that I've failed in what I'm doing because I haven't even accomplished.

everything that I've wanted to accomplish in my business, like telling more than

I know, not even telling my audience what I'm doing or what my offer is and what's new and whatever. So, yeah, I'm not a failure. I just haven't said anything. And a lot of that, of course, has to do with everything I just talked to you about. Wanting to show up perfectly, wanting to make sure that I have the right information, making sure that everyone actually wants to hear what I have to say, making sure that everything that I am saying is of value. You get it?

And I know I'm not the only one that's invested all of these years, time and money into themselves and have felt the same way or haven't made an investment back or just is kind of stuck in this cycle of being accountable to themselves. And honestly, the best way that it was explained to me is that we are regular women, moms, entrepreneurs.

wanting to be entrepreneurs, wanting to be CEOs of our businesses, but we've never actually been taught how to be the CEO of our business. We've never been taught how to expand our capacity and our minds and what we're doing on a normal basis to hold space for being an entrepreneur, for being the CEO or having a millionaire type of mindset.

You know, all the goals, all the things, we're just these regular people who are holding the capacity of what we know in this moment and trying to figure it out. It's just like parenting. When you are a child and become an adult and then you have kids, you're basically just an older child trying to figure out how to parent to these little kids. And I didn't know that at first, but thinking back,

in my like later thirties now, really thinking that as a little girl, my parents who now I'm their age when I think about this, we're just versions of us trying to figure out how to like keep our kids alive and to raise them to be good people

Like we're, we're wired right now to drive to this nine to five. To what? Make money to provide for our children, our families, ourselves, to work really hard for a really great lifestyle, for a house, for everything. And for what?

The American Dream.

But nobody tells you that working really hard is what it takes to make money because the people who are making money, I've found, don't actually work really hard. They actually work smarter and strategically.

I've been a business owner for...

more than 20 years now. I've worked in customer service. I've grown teams. I've trained hundreds. I've done all the things. And the only thing I have to do now is to figure out how to do that for myself, to expand my own mind, to be the CEO of my own business, to trust in my own product and my own self.

and to remove all of the doubt and the fear of...

being in the limelight. Because how many of us are here right now because we were told to be good girls and to be quiet and humble and stay out of the way and.

to not rock the boat.

to not be.

Necessary not to be seen or heard or felt just to exist

But I've come to realize that I'm the one living my life and there is a lot more than just what's on this surface and.

One of my gifts is looking at patterns and seeing patterns and making sure that I see what others don't see and bringing that to light for them.

And that's the goal here.

is to just come out and speak what I've been told to be quiet, when I've been told to just keep my thoughts to myself

I know that the people who this is for will hear me and I know that the people this isn't for will not be here for very long and that's okay because this is for the people that need to hear it

and we're gonna hone it in. We're gonna work on embodiment. We're going to debunk some things. We're going to get out of the conditioning, the limiting beliefs, and literally just love life and do a lot of fun things that we don't really get to do. And we do that in community. We do that in different spaces and different capacities. And I hope that you stick around for it.

I really do hope that you find value in it. Please send me messages or comments on anything that I said or anything that moved you, anything that bothered you, whatever it is. Let me know how it's landing. I am so curious to know if this is even worth doing. But yeah, we're just gonna do the thing and see how it goes one day at a time, right? I'll see you on the next one.
